The two applications you must complete
1. University Admissions: 15 January 2027
Apply at universityadmissions.se between 16 October 2026 and 15 January 2027. Upload your documents and pay the application fee by 1 February 2027. The fee is SEK 900 for applicants from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland, with no waivers (KTH). Documents received after the documentation deadline are not considered (KI). SI’s scholarship is only for programmes on its eligible list, which it publishes on 13 November 2026.
2. SI portal: 8–24 February 2027
SI’s portal is open for two weeks. You need your University Admissions application number, and SI’s earlier calls warned that a wrong number disqualifies the application (SI call, 2023). SI publishes the application documents and templates on 13 November 2026, so you can prepare before the portal opens.
The university deadline falls 41 days before the SI portal opens: 15 January to 25 February is 41 days, and 8 February is 24 days later. Missing the January application removes you from the round. See our SI Scholarship guide for eligibility, funding and the acceptance rate.
After you submit
University Admissions publishes results on 1 April 2027. SI then evaluates the applications that are still eligible and announces recipients on 22 April 2027 on si.se. Because of the number of applications, only those offered a scholarship are notified, so silence on the day is not a message in itself. In 2026/27 SI also named 27 candidates on a reserve list (SI recipient list). We did not find the 2027 date for accepting an offer, so follow the instructions in your offer.
Deadline mistakes to avoid
- Treating February as the only deadline. The university application closes on 15 January.
- Missing 1 February. Documents and the fee are due then, and your application is not processed without the fee.
- Applying to a programme that is not on SI’s list. Check the list on 13 November 2026.
- Starting the SI forms on 8 February. The documents are available from 13 November, so you have about three months to prepare.
- Using an old form. SI’s earlier calls required the form for the current year, so use the 2027 versions.
